A red breasted robin garden bird sitting on a colouring pencil and hand-drawn by Martin Balmer for his logo and profile picture.
This drawing was created on watercolour paper using Derwent watercolour pencils.
Drawn: June 2017
Media: Paper, Watercolour Pencil
A cheeky little robin red breast sitting on a colouring pencil. A print of my watercolour pencil drawing of a European robin, a well-loved native British garden bird. Frame not included.
This is a print of my original watercolour pencil drawing that I hand-drew in June 2017 for my logo and profile picture. Robins often feature in my artwork, so he was a fitting subject to join the watercolour pencil, itself a significant symbol of my art. Much of my artwork is created using watercolour pencils.
Watercolour pencils are special water soluble colouring pencils. With these I can literally paint with pencils, blending the vibrancy of a painting with the intricacy of fine pencil lines.
Once I completed this work, a high resolution scan was made of it. From that I exclusively produce prints and other items featuring this feathered friend.
The pencil features the lettering 'MartinBalmer.com'.
